If we look at the previous months and the last year then we will see some popular items from Amazon are out of stock. Some people might say that the new version of those products will hit the market soon but the reality is pretty different.
Although it might be true that the newer version of those products might come out this year but other reasons might be preventing Amazon from making such devices.
In 2020, a lot of businesses started to encourage home offices to their workers. A lot of people are working from home nowadays. And this isn't just workers that are working from home. Most of the students are also studying from home. They are attending the classes via cloud platforms like zoom or google meet. This event created a need for home applications and computers such as budget laptops, tv sticks, budget tabs, speakers, games, consoles, etc.
But isn't it good for the company?
Technically Yes, but this also creates a shortage of products. As a result, sometimes products run out of stock. The demands help the company to sell their products but sometimes it is hard for companies to satisfy the demands.
But it won't be a problem if the company keeps manufacturing them right?
Well Yes, but this is where the company faces some problems. If the company doesn't have enough raw materials then it will fail to manufacture the products. As a result, the company will run out of the finished goods earlier than it manufactures another batch of products.
So what type of raw material are you talking about?
Here I'm talking about the shortage of semiconductors/ chips/ processors. If you look closely then you will realize how important semiconductors are. Every electronic device uses semiconductors in order to operate. Computers, laptops, mobiles, headphones, smart tv, watches, cars, speakers, watching machines, tv sticks, medical equipment, manufacturing machines, robots, and more. This shortage forces temporarily shut down the manufacturing process.
So what started this semiconductor shortage?
The answer is Covid-19. Because it forces people to work from home. As a result, people started to upgrade their electronic devices. Also, companies started to manufacture more products. But now they are running out of semiconductors. As a result, some products are temporary out of stock.
Does that mean those products will never come back?
Well no, they will come back however it might take some time. The semiconductor industry is huge and they will manage to close the gap eventually. However, it will take a while. The companies need to make a profit after all and so they will try to rush the manufacturing process. Moreover, we might just see a new version of those products.
