The new Anker Soundcore Boost is a lovely little mid-range Bluetooth speaker with really good bass. Anker released this specific model in 2017 but they upgraded this specific model later on. The previous Soundcore Boost had an IPX5 rating but right now upgraded version comes with an IPX7 rating and it supports USB Type-C instead of micro USB which is pretty good. Everything else is pretty much the same as the previous one.
Design
The design of Soundcore boost is simple and minimalistic. There is a soft rubbery finishing on the speaker. Just like the Soundcore and Soundcore 2, this speaker gives the same vibe but a little bit heavy. The control buttons are at the upper side of the speaker just like the previous model. There is a button for extra bass. The speaker also supports NFC. The Type-C port, charge out and auxiliary port is covered so that water can't get inside. If your phone is running out of battery then you can charge it using the speaker.
Performance
Now let's talk about the performance of this speaker. Anker claimed that the speaker can give backup for up to 12 hours. Well in my first testing I got around 8 hours and in my second testing, I got a little bit higher than 8 hours. I can say the battery backup isn't superb but it will get the job done. On the other hand, you might get better backup if you use an auxiliary cable and use it as a desktop speaker (I use a Bluetooth speaker as my desktop speaker but my desktop doesn't have Bluetooth so I use an auxiliary cable. Keep in mind that you can use the speaker while charging). The normal Soundcore and Soundcore 2 had better battery backup compare to the Soundcore Boost. However, the bass is way better than the previous models. Not exactly super amazing but it is better than its competitor JBL Flip 4. The base lovers will definitely like it. Compare to the size of the speaker, the sound quality is pretty amazing. There is a built-in microphone for calls although nobody actually uses a speaker to communicate. It is easy to pair the device and you can also connect it with NFC.
Pros
This speaker has great bass;

Comes with a USB Type-A port so that you can also charge your phone with this speaker;
It has an IPX7 rating which means you can be a little bit carefree around water.
Cons
Less battery life than standard Soundcore and Soundcore 2;
At 100% volume level, you might face some sound clarity because of bass but it works fine at 80% volume.
This square-looking small device can deliver some powerful bass compare to its size. I don't see any other speaker that can deliver this better sound quality compared to the price. At this price range, it is kinda unbeatable to its competitors. You might get better battery backup if you lower the volume and it still sounds good. You can listen to music as well as charge your phone with the speaker. It can be used as a little power bank. JBL charge 3 has this feature but it cost a little bit higher. If you already own a standard Anker Soundcore then you can buy it but if you own Soundcore 2 or 3 then you should think a little bit more. Other than battery backup the sound difference isn't too much but the bass quality is pretty amazing. Overall Anker Soundcore Boost is a great speaker with lots of features.
