It is true that LG played an important role in the smartphone industry. Some of the popular features we see in our smartphones actually came from LG. But right now the company is leaving the smartphone market because of the huge competition.
So what makes LG so unique?
LG is a very well-known brand. They are well known for home applications. They pretty much make everything we use in our house. But for smartphones, LG isn't very popular even though they were in the smartphone market for a long time. Does it mean they made bad phones? No, they made decent quality phones. But what makes them unique is that they always tried new features in their smartphones which actually ends up being essential for smartphones nowadays.

Nowadays most of the flagship phones, as well as budget phones, comes with these features. The company itself always tried to make new innovations in their smartphones which turns out to be great for modern smartphones. Now that LG is leaving the smartphone market, we might never see what they could do in their later smartphones. They had the talent but they didn't have the money-making smartphone which other brand has.
